Privacy Policy

Effective: May 6, 2026

1. Introduction

PixelBroker is a personal project operated by Josep Sensarrich, based in the Province of Barcelona, Spain (referred to in this document as "we", "us", or "the operator"). This Privacy Policy explains how the PixelBroker website at pixelbroker.io handles information about its visitors.

The PixelBroker mobile app has a separate privacy policy that covers account data, authentication, subscriptions, advertising, and push notifications. That document is available within the mobile app and on its Google Play Store listing. It does not apply to this website, and this policy does not apply to the mobile app.

If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at support@pixelbroker.io.

2. What data we collect on the website

The PixelBroker website does not actively collect personal data from visitors. There is no user registration, no login, no account, and no form on the site that asks for personal information.

The only data automatically recorded is the standard server access log of our backend at api.pixelbroker.io. Like virtually every web server, it stores:

  • The IP address of the request
  • The timestamp of the request
  • The user-agent string sent by your browser
  • The URL or endpoint that was requested

This is the minimum that any standard web server records by default. We use it for two reasons: keeping the service secure (detecting abuse, denial-of-service attempts, automated scraping) and diagnosing technical issues.

Legal basis: legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.

Retention: access logs are kept for up to 90 days and then deleted automatically.

3. Cookies

The PixelBroker website does not use cookies for tracking, advertising, or analytics. No third-party cookies are set by the site.

You will not see a cookie banner because the site has nothing to ask consent for. If we ever add features that require cookies (such as analytics, saved preferences, or similar), we will update this policy and add a clear consent mechanism before activating them.

4. Third-party services

The website relies on a small number of third-party services to operate. None of them are used for tracking visitors.

  • Backend hosting: the API at api.pixelbroker.io is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, located in Germany (EU). Hetzner is GDPR-compliant and stores data within the EU.
  • Email hosting: the support@pixelbroker.io address is provided by Hostinger, which also operates under GDPR.
  • Web fonts: the site uses Geist and Geist Mono via Next.js's next/font system. Next.js downloads these fonts at build time and serves them from our own server. Your browser never contacts Google's font servers when loading the site.
  • Game data sources: the prices, cover art, and metadata shown on PixelBroker are aggregated from public sources such as PriceCharting and TheGamesDB. These services receive requests from our backend, not from your browser, and are not informed about who is visiting our site.

5. Email contact

If you write to support@pixelbroker.io, we will receive your name (if you choose to share it), your email address, and the content of your message. We use this information solely to reply to your inquiry.

We do not use the email addresses of people who contact us for marketing or any other unrelated purpose.

6. The mobile app is different

This Privacy Policy covers only the website. The PixelBroker mobile app collects more information because it offers user accounts, subscriptions, and other features that this website does not have.

The mobile app has its own privacy policy, which is available within the app and on the Google Play Store listing. That policy describes the additional data processing that happens inside the app. None of those processes occur on the website.

7. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Union, or in another jurisdiction with comparable data protection laws, you have the following rights regarding any personal data we may hold about you:

  • Right of access
  • Right to rectification
  • Right to erasure (the "right to be forgotten")
  • Right to data portability
  • Right to object to processing
  • Right to restriction of processing

To exercise any of these rights, write to support@pixelbroker.io. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish data protection authority (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos) at aepd.es if you believe we are not handling your data appropriately.

8. Children

The PixelBroker website is not directed at children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a minor has shared personal information with us through the contact email, please write to support@pixelbroker.io and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced visibly on the website before they take effect. Continued use of the site after changes are published indicates acceptance of the updated policy.

11. Affiliate Disclosure

PixelBroker is a participant in the eBay Partner Network, an affiliate program designed to provide a means for sites and applications to earn fees by linking to eBay. When you click on external links to eBay listings from within the app or notifications, we may receive a small commission if you make a purchase. This does not affect the price you pay nor influence which listings we show; all listings are sourced and ranked using the public eBay Browse API.
